Projects
Marathon has performed services on a wide variety of projects including commercial, industrial, residential, educational, institutional, and infrastructure improvements for a diverse client base in both the private and public sectors. A sample of some of our recent projects can be found below:
LogistiCenter at Logan
LogistiCenter at Logan is a state-of-the-art industrial park located at Exit 10 on Interstate 295 in Logan Township, Gloucester County, New Jersey. Marathon has been an integral part of the team developing the park over the last 25+ years. The park is located along the banks of Oldmans Creek in Logan Township, within in and adjacent to environmentally constrained and heavily regulated areas.
Marathon has assisted multiple clients with development projects throughout the park over the years and has secured approvals ranging from municipal by-right site plan applications, use variances, height variances and multiple bulk variances, NJDEP land use approvals, Tidelands approvals, Soil Conservation District Certifications and County Planning and Engineering approvals required in order to be completed successfully. Multiple freshwater wetland mitigation projects and individual permits have also been secured by Marathon for projects in Pureland.
Pureland Industrial Park
The Pureland Industrial Park is a center made up of a mix of industrial and commercial spaces that was the forefront of development of a ratable base in Logan Township, Gloucester County, New Jersey. Pureland’s founding partners and developers pioneered the effort to develop a sanitary sewer treatment plan in Logan Township that spawned the development around Exit 10 on Interstate 295. Marathon and our principals were part of that pioneering effort, and continue work at the park to present day. The 3,000 acre park abuts Interstate 295 and myriad of creeks and wetland complexes regulated by NJDEP and the US Army Corps of Engineers.
Marathon helped develop a “master planned” approach to approval of the site under the NJ Waterfront Development Act to allow for all 1,170 acres of the park to be reviewed and approved by NJDEP with conceptual development schemes, and for that approval approach to set the overall impervious cover and disturbance limits within the park to avoid having to go back to NJDEP for separate Waterfront Development Permits for each project. This approach saves the developer significant time and cost associated with permitting and provides predictability.
Stockton University
Stockton University is a unique institution of higher learning tucked into a unique setting in the middle of the Pinelands National Reserve in Galloway Township, Atlantic County, New Jersey. Marathon has assisted the University for over 20 years with multiple development projects, and played a major role in development of the 2010 Master Plan for the University, and a Memorandum of Agreement with the New Jersey Pinelands Commission to expedite development approvals for projects on campus. This was a valuable approval to gain since the University is under immense pressure to grown its facilities to accommodate the growing number of students that wants to attend this well-respected and highly accomplished State University.
In addition to the master planning assistance, Marathon also provided detailed site design, land use approval services, utility design and approvals, and construction liaison services for projects such as the Campus Center, Unified Science Center, College Walk, Facilities and Plant Management complex, Solar Photvoltaic systems over parking lots, Water Allocation permitting, multiple parking lot improvements, campus wide wetland delineation, threatened & endangered species habitat evaluation, and utility location plans.
