Marathon assisted American Iron and Metal International initially with a use variance to permit an automobile crushing and recycling facility within the Millville Industrial District. Once the use variance was obtained, a Major Site Plan was prepared for submission to the City of Millville Zoning Board. The site plan incorporated a small addition to the 81,000 square foot industrial building that existed on the site as well as a 120,000 square foot concrete recycling yard. The addition was designed to house the shredder machine control tower and the electric motors that provide power to the shredder. The project received local approvals in late 2011 and NJDEP approvals in early 2012.
This work included coordination with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection staff on a general permit for stormwater pollution prevention and review of the stormwater management system.
In addition, Marathon coordinated the efforts during the construction phase of the site improvements. Inspections and monthly review contractor’s invoices for payment by the owner and their funding source where an integral part of our services.
