Marathon has served the City of Brigantine and the City’s Planning Board as its Municipal Professional Planning consultant for all aspects of its planning needs since 1997, a period of more than 17 years. Projects during that period included preparation of Master Plan Updates and Zoning Ordinance revisions, Council of Affordable Housing issues and plans and review of applications for development for the Planning Board;
Many of the projects and tasks required close interaction with numerous State and County Agencies, including the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Department of Community Affairs, Council on Affordable Housing (COAH), and Atlantic County Planning and Engineering.
Other general services performed for the municipality include:
- Maintenance of various maps such as Zoning Maps, Open Space & Recreation Maps, FEMA flood damage maps post Sandy;
- Attend Economic Development Committee meetings;
- Meet and consult with local Chamber of Commerce;
- Assist with grant applications for various municipal projects;
- State Planning Office Cross Acceptance program.
