SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEMS PLANS AND PERMITTING
THE RICHARD STOCKTON COLLEGE OF NEW JERSEY

Marathon Engineering & Environmental Services, Inc. (Marathon) has assisted the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey (Stockton) with multiple solar photovoltaic systems on the Stockton campus. As New Jersey’s Green College, Stockton is at the forefront in use of alternative energy sources and has one of the largest renewable energy systems in the State. The services provided were for preparation of Site Plans to depict the limits of disturbance and location of carport-mounted solar panel arrays and documents in support of land use approvals from the New Jersey Pinelands Commission and Cape Atlantic Conservation District. In addition, the Overall Utility Location Plan, prepared for Stockton by Marathon under another contract, was used as a base to show areas of existing utilities and was instrumental in deciding which locations on campus are suitable for construction of the solar facilities.
Marathon assisted Stockton with a carport-mounted 852 KW system over Parking Lot 7 on the south end of the academic core area by preparing documents to obtain Public Development Approval from the Pinelands Commission. We are currently in the final design and permitting stages for a 1.37 MW carport system on the north end of campus around existing student housing. Marathon is preparing Site Plans, Utility Plans and applications to the Pinelands Commission to obtain Public Development Approval and the Cape Atlantic Conservation District for Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Plan Certification. That system is anticipated to be completed in August 2011.
