SITE INVESTIGATION/REMEDIAL INVESTIGATION AND REMEDIAL ACTION
Glover Mill Estates
Haddon Heights, Camden County, New Jersey
Marathon was retained by Glover Mill Estates to complete the investigation of the former wastewater treatment plant. Historically, the property was operated by the Borough of Haddon Heights as a wastewater treatment system and public works facility. When Marathon was contracted, the property was in the process of being developed with twenty-eight (28) single-family houses when the former wastewater treatment system was unearthed during demolition of the property for site development.
Marathon quickly developed and implemented a sampling plan to characterize the soils and concrete in the area of the former wastewater treatment system. Marathon determined that the tanks had been backfilled with historic fill and developed a site remediation plan to excavate and stockpile the 16,500 tons of historic fill. The material was ultimately reused as alternative fill at a local site remediation project in the City of Gloucester. As LSRP, Robert Carter issued an unrestricted use, Area of Concern RAO for the Subject Property.
