Marathon Engineering & Environmental Services, Inc. was retained by the Cordish Companies to prepare site plans and application documents to obtain formal Site Plan approval from the Casino Reinvestment and Development Authority (CRDA) for the proposed 86,000 square foot themed retail store known as Bass Pro Shops Worldwide Sportsman. The store will include its trademark hunting and fishing retail facilities as well as Tracker Boats, Offshore Angler and Uncle Bucks Fish Bowl Restaurant and bowling operation.
The project will complete Phase IV of Atlantic City Outlets – The Walk and will be located on the block between Columbus Boulevard, Mississippi Avenue, Artic Avenue and Atlantic Avenue. Approximately 200 additional parking spaces will be included on the site. The site improvements will include sidewalk improvements, fencing, landscaping, lighting as well as way finding signage to assist both pedestrians and automobiles with access to the site. The project received Site Plan and Variance approval from the CRDA on September 16, 2013 with construction scheduled to begin in October 2013.
Marathon prepared design plans for submission to the various review agencies, including the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) for a Coastal Area Facilities Review Act (CAFRA) Permit, the Cape Atlantic Conservation District for a Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Plan Certification, and the CRDA for Site Plan Approval.
