Marathon assisted the City of Atlantic City in the preparation of United States Environmental Protection Agency Brownfields Assessment Grant Applications and Cleanup Grant Applications to address distressed brownfield sites in the City of Atlantic City. As environmental consultant to the City, Marathon has coordinated monthly Brownfield Task Force meetings; presented various projects to community groups; participated with the city at Inter-Agency Workgroup and Brownfield Redevelopment Task Force meetings. Marathon has offered technical support to the City on other grants involving environmental issues and has provided administrative services in support of grants awarded to the City.
In support of the City’s Brownfields efforts, Marathon has completed preliminary assessment/Phase I Environmental Site Assessments for the City on fifteen (15) properties. In addition, Marathon currently serves as Licensed Site Remediation Professional on eight (8) properties for Atlantic City: Former Motor Vehicle Inspection Station; Bader Field; Riverside Business Park; Public Safety Building; Fire House Number 7; Fire House Number 6; Chelsea Ballfields and Atlantic City International Airport – Site L.
