Marathon Engineering & Environmental Services, Inc. (Marathon) was retained by Conifer Realty LLC to assist their company and the Atlantic City Housing Authority (ACHA) with preparation of design plans, land use approval permit applications and construction documents for two housing redevelopment projects in Atlantic City totaling 90 units. The projects are being developed under the final phase of a HOPE VI grant awarded to ACHA by US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) the for redevelopment of blighted housing projects with contemporary apartment and townhouse units that are rentals, but include privacy similar to those found in single family housing developments such as private parking, private entrances to the units and front and rear yards.
As part of the approval process for the site construction work, Marathon assisted Conifer and ACHA by preparing and submitting the required application documentation for:
- Review and Recommendation from the Atlantic City Planning Board
- Flood Hazard Area Control Act Permits from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP)
- Water Main Extension Permit from NJDEP
- Treatment Works Approval (TWA) Permit for sanitary sewer service from NJDEP
- Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Plan Certification from the Cape Atlantic Conservation District
- Authorization to Discharge Stormwater During Construction (Stormwater General Permit RG3) from NJDEP
- Phase I/Phase II activities to characterize historic fill and preparation of remedial action work plans for the remediation of historic fill using engineering and institutional controls.
