SITE PLAN AND PERMITTING
PITMAN CHURCH OF CHRIST
Mantua Township, Gloucester County, New Jersey
Marathon Engineering & Environmental Services, Inc. (Marathon) worked with Pitman Church of Christ to develop a 500 seat church with 200 space parking lot, stormwater management facilities, landscaping, lighting, utilities, and associated site amenities in Mantua Township, Gloucester County, New Jersey. The stormwater management design was unique in that it had to accommodate a large offsite area that drained to and through the site while respecting environmental constraints related to wetlands, a riparian zone and a flood hazard area. The plans were prepared in accordance with local and state requirements with inventive techniques to address Soil Erosion and Sediment Control requirements through the use of diversions and a waterway to provide a stabilized area downstream of the development while avoiding the need for any permits from NJDEP. The stormwater management design was prepared in accordance with NJ State stormwater rules utilizing BMPs and low impact techniques.
The approvals obtained in connection with the project were from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection for a wetlands Letter of Interpretation, Mantua Township Planning Board for preliminary and final site plan approval, Gloucester County Department of Planning and Engineering for site plan approval, and the Gloucester Soil Conservation District for soil erosion and sediment control plan certification.
