SEAVIEW STUDENT RESIDENT PARKING

Marathon Engineering & Environmental Services, Inc. (Marathon) assisted Stockton Affiliated Services and Dolce in obtaining land use approvals to develop a reinforced grass parking lot, shuttle loading area and building expansion at Seaview Resort in Galloway Township, Atlantic County, New Jersey.
In September 2010, The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey purchased the Seaview Resort to expand the hospitality program at the College. As part of the program, senior level students will be given the opportunity to reside at Seaview Resort and work in the hotel management department. In order to accommodate the student residents, 25 rooms at the hotel were converted to function as student residences when classes are in session with the ability to easily switch them back to hotel rooms for normal use during peak hotel season.
In connection with the low impact approach, Stockton Affiliated Services (the non-profit development corporation of Stockton College) and Dolce (the hotel management company) wanted to create a reinforced grass parking area for student use as well as a shuttle drop off area to take the student residents to the main campus for classes. Marathon performed site layout, grading, utility, landscaping, lighting, stormwater management and soil erosion and sediment control design during preparation of the Site Plans and a Stormwater Management Report that accompanied permit and approval applications. Marathon’s civil engineering and environmental departments obtained the following approvals and permits:
- Galloway Township Variance and Site Plan Approval
- Courtesy presentation to Atlantic County Planning Board
- Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Plan Certification from Cape Atlantic Conservation District
